For substrates with low surface tension – usually plastics – or if the substrate composition is unknown, we recommend using our Dekavator adhesion cleaner. It ensures permanent adhesion and prevents moisture penetration in outdoor areas. Decavator improves bond strength by acting as a chemical bridge between the substrate and the adhesive. Applications: Pretreatment of aluminum, steel, copper, and brass; Pretreatment of powder-coated metal; Pretreatment of painted metal (solvent compatibility with the substrate should be checked beforehand); Pretreatment of (ceramic-coated) glass; Pretreatment of polyester (GRP); Pretreatment of ABS; Pretreatment of PVC. Application: Substrates should be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. The packaging should remain tightly closed until use. Decavator can be used directly from the original packaging, provided contamination and viscosity increase are prevented. The color should be transparent (when the color becomes milky transparent, the product is no longer usable). Prevent the decavator from coming into contact with water until it has cured on the substrate. Therefore, it is recommended to make two openings in the aluminum sealant can. (Whether this is possible depends on the can.) Close the can immediately after use. Apply the decavator in a thin layer. Rub the surface vigorously with a clean, unpainted cloth moistened with decavator. After a drying time of approximately 5 minutes (the solvent should be completely evaporated; the lower the temperature, the longer the drying time), the adhesive/sealant can be applied.
