Accurate measurement of the vehicle's electrical system voltage provides safety, as the battery voltage can give an initial indication of the battery's state of charge. Harmful deep discharges of the battery are also detected immediately and can be remedied by prompt charging. Abnormally large voltage drops when operating electrical components usually indicate an aging battery. Overcharging by unregulated chargers or other unsuitable charging sources can be detected and thus avoided. The LCD Voltmeter S displays the voltage of either the leisure or starter battery. The voltages are shown as precise numerical values. The additional bar graph operates in the range of 10.5 to 15 volts, clearly and concisely displaying the most relevant battery voltage range, from deep discharge to maximum charging voltage. During installation, this function is set once to either 12V or 24V operation. In 24V mode, the range corresponds to 21.0 to 30.0 volts. Mixed operation, e.g., a 24V starter circuit and a 12V supply circuit, is also possible, as this setting is configured separately for the starter and leisure batteries. Connection is made via screw terminals on the back of the device. Matching the VOTRONIC modular system, the LCD Voltmeter S integrates seamlessly with the other display modules, both visually and mechanically (uniform height 85 mm). Its shallow mounting depth of only 22 mm allows for installation almost anywhere. The display features a switchable white backlight and is easily readable even from a distance and in all lighting conditions.
