In leaf-sprung vehicles, an air bellows is mounted between the frame and the rear axle, which supports the existing leaf springs. The VB-SemiAir is supplied as a two-chamber system, meaning the air springs are not connected. Dual-circuit systems ensure that small load differences can be compensated for separately on the left and right sides. The VB-SemiAir is supplied with a deflation/inflation valve for this purpose. Explanation of single-circuit/dual-circuit systems: Single-circuit system: Both air springs are connected. They are filled via a common line. With a single-circuit system, only one pressure gauge is needed to monitor the total air pressure in the system. A single-circuit system is only suitable if the wheel loads on the rear axle are identical on both sides and the vehicle load is completely even. Dual-circuit system: The left and right air springs are separate and can therefore be filled to different pressures. Two pressure gauges are required to monitor the pressure. The ability to vary the pressure separately makes it easy to compensate for load-dependent wheel load differences in dual-circuit systems. Imbalances can be corrected.
