Activator-205 is a solvent-based, colorless adhesion promoter that reacts with moisture and leaves adhesion-active compounds on the surface. These act as a bond between the substrate and the primer or adhesive. Specially developed for pretreating bonding surfaces in combination with Sikaflex and Sikasil adhesives/sealants.

Application

Sika Aktivator-205 is used to improve adhesion to non-porous substrates such as metals, plastics, ceramic screen prints, and painted surfaces. Observe the manufacturer's recommendations before using Sika Aktivator-205 on materials susceptible to stress cracking. Preliminary tests must be carried out with the original materials to avoid stress cracking. This product is only suitable for experienced users. To ensure adhesion and material compatibility, preliminary tests must be carried out with the original materials under the respective conditions. Note: The bonding surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, dust, and contaminants. Adhesion can be improved before applying the activator by further pretreatment steps, such as sanding or cleaning.
