The HDS 166 antenna set for manual satellite reception is an excellent alternative to the fully automatic, permanently mounted rotating unit. The BAS 66 flat antenna is ideally suited for setup and satellite search using a smartphone and a compass app (depending on the smartphone and operating system, such an app may already be installed). Included in delivery: flat antenna, aluminum satellite tripod, adapter joint, 15 m coaxial cable, and carrying case. The antenna can be set up in 3 easy steps: Observe the setting values in the enclosed azimuth/elevation table. Start the compass app, place the smartphone on the flat antenna, and adjust the antenna's tilt (elevation). Determine the satellite position (e.g., Astra 19.2° E in the Munich area = 169.80°) using a spirit level app and rotate the antenna in that direction.
