Check which base carrier you can use on your vehicle (frame spacing) and whether you need to fabricate an additional subframe. The sketch on the left and the notes below will help you find the right one: A chassis extending to the rear end (rear bumper) of the body is required (original longitudinal beams or frame extension in the form of profile rails or U-shaped profiles of sufficient load-bearing capacity). If the distance between these longitudinal beams is less than 1200 mm, base carrier I with a width of 1400 mm can be used. For a greater distance, base carrier II (1750 mm wide) is more suitable. The longitudinal beams should be unobstructed on the outside (no water tanks or similar). You need approximately 40-50 cm of space at the front for mounting the adapter. Nothing other than the rear bumper or apron should obstruct the installation of the base carrier at the rear (e.g., taillights). The payload depends on the load-bearing capacity.
